The difference between copper wire motor and aluminum wire motor

The difference between copper wire rolling door motor and aluminum wire rolling door motor

In life, when we purchase rolling gate motors, how do we distinguish between good and bad motors? Sometimes, it’s not enough to buy something cheap, and it doesn’t have to be expensive. We have to be careful and discern everywhere. Pitfalls are everywhere.

Among rolling gate motors, at the current industrial level, in most cases, there are more motors using copper wires and aluminum wires. Other metal motors are not discussed here.

The difference between copper wire motor and aluminum wire motor:

1. Different metal densities:
The density of copper is: 8.9*10 cubic kg/m3
The density of aluminum is: 2.7*10 cubic kg/m3
The density of copper is almost three times that of aluminum. With the same number of metal coils, the weight of aluminum wire motors is far less than that of copper wire motors. In terms of quality, regardless of wire performance and service life, copper wire motors are superior to aluminum wires.

2. Production:
During the production process, the motor is embedded in the wire, and the aluminum wire is brittle in quality, has low toughness, and is easy to break.
Copper wire is pressed or drawn wire:
A. It has good electrical conductivity and is often used in the manufacture of wires, cables, brushes, etc.
B. The thermal conductivity of copper wire is also very good, and it is used in the manufacture of magnetic instruments and instruments that must be protected against magnetic interference, such as compasses and aviation instruments.
C. Finally, the copper wire has good plasticity and is easy to process by hot pressing and cold pressing. The mechanical properties of copper wire are very good. The elongation of the copper wire is ≥30. The tensile strength of copper wire is ≥315.
Therefore, in electrical motors, in comparison, the qualified rate of copper wires is about twice that of aluminum wires for motors with the same thickness of coils.

3. carrying capacity
For example, if the number of coils is the same size, if the current carrying capacity of the aluminum wire is 5 amps, then the current carrying capacity of the copper wire is at least 6 amps. Moreover, the aluminum wire motor works for a long time and is prone to heat, causing damage to the motor.
Copper wire motor does not have such a situation, the performance is stable, and it can work for a long time.

4. the price
In terms of price, the price of aluminum wire motors is undoubtedly cheap. Because of this, in some price wars, the products of aluminum wire motors will be more than twice as cheap as the products of copper wire motors, which also prompts middle and low-level consumers to buy in large quantities.
Therefore, when choosing a motor, it is best to choose a copper wire motor, and it is a pure copper wire motor. Some factories, in order to save costs, often use copper-clad aluminum wire motors, making customers mistakenly think that they are copper wire motors, which save money compared to pure wire copper motors, but they are often easy to suffer.
